Capetonian Dial-Up
|
|
The Capetonian dial-up account offers cost effective
Internet access. This account offers connectivity
via our Cape Town based Point of Presence on the "021"
dialing code. Users from the Cape Town area as well as
Somerset West and Stellenbosch can use this service at
local call rates.

|
Roadrunner Dial-Up
|
The Roadrunner account offers Internet access via an
"086" number. This allows access to the Internet from
anywhere in South Africa at local telephone call rates.
Calls to this service are handled by a number of Points of
Presence throughout South Africa. Thus if there is a problem
with one POP, users can connect via an alternate one.
These POP's are operated by "SAIX" and connected directly to
their high speed backbone network. All of the POP's support
56k connections.

Platinum ISDN Dial-up
|
The platinum account is a premium dial-up service which
offers connectivity via ISDN digital dial-up service or
traditional analogue modem. The Platinum service connects
directly to POP's on the UUNET backbone.
(We can also offer ISDN accounts which dial into the SAIX
backbone)
The Plantinum account has the following optional features:
-
128k ISDN. This service allows two simultaneous 64k ISDN
sessions to be bundled into a single 128k connection.
-
International roaming. This service allows users to connect
world wide to POPs in most major countries in Europe, America and
Asia. The service is facilitated by Worldcom, the international
telecomunication giant. No per minute charges are payable!
-
Static IP addresses. This option allows users to get the same IP
address every time they call. This allows certain programs,
protocols and security configurations to be supported that
otherwise could not be supported on standard "dynamic IP" services.
